I did not have the black screen, but I did have CTD's on the intro when I tried exiting through the basement. I downloaded some patched files, Patch.fat and Patch.dat from this link ( ) and replaced the original Patch.fat and Patch.dat in the Data_Win_32 folder within the Far Cry 4 installation folder. It was originally posted on this Counter Strike forum ( ) by a user who modded the files to fix the basement glitch, which I can confirm worked for me. Also download this Ali crack ( ), install ONLY the Ali crack from the download, the Skidrow crack is apparently what caused my problems with the basement glitch. Maybe it'll fix your black screen too, no harm in trying. Also, my scan with Norton came back clean. I installed my files in the order of 1) Ali crack, 2) modded files from the Mega link in this post, 3) the V 1.03 Update.

I've been consistently crashing to black screen / not responding upon launch. Every single time. I haven't ruled out the possibility that my laptop may finally be outclassed by a new game.
