Smeta Na Pozharotushenie

The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) is a web-based system designed to help organizations manage data on labor practices in their supply chain. Members have the benefit of being able to publish their SMETA audit reports directly on the SEDEX system for viewing by all customers. SEDEX members have agreed the Best Practice Guide, a common methodology to improve audit standards and promote mutual acceptance of audit reports.

In addition to the principles in the ETI Base Code, SMETA also review performance against the right to work of migrant workers, management systems and implementation, sub-contracting and home working and environmental issues. Prior to your audit, we request access to the self-assessment questionnaire already completed by sites to be audited.

The audit length then typically ranges from one to four days on site depending on the number of employees. At the end of the audit, a corrective action plan is left with the facility and a full report is provided, which can be uploaded to the SEDEX database if required. After the auditing process is complete, we can then work with you to verify the completion of corrective action plans. SGS has a long and distinguished involvement in sustainability auditing against the requirements of various codes and standards. We are a founding member of the SEDEX Associate Auditor Group which works with SEDEX to drive convergence in audit methodology and reporting.

Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world. SMETA is an audit methodology, providing a compilation of best practice ethical audit techniques. It is designed to help auditors conduct high quality audits that encompass all aspects of responsible business practice, covering Sedex’s four pillars of Labour, Health and Safety, Environment and Business Ethics. SMETA is designed for suppliers to share one audit with multiple customers, meeting multiple customer requirements and reducing duplication in ethical auditing. SMETA has three elements: • A common Best Practice Guidance on conducting ethical trade audits • A common Audit Report format • A common Corrective Action Plan format. Nearly 20,000 SMETA audits are uploaded onto the Sedex platform every year.
